The body of the Danmark woman, who is believed to have fallen to her death from the top of Alagalla mountain in an accident while climbing it, was still decomposing when it was found.
Her body was found yesterday lying face down in a forest at the foot of the hill. The face part of the body had started to decay.
Accordingly, it is suspected that this death probably happened on the 10th, when it was mentioned that she left the Kandy hotel to climb the mountain, said a senior police officer. The official said that the body did not decay quickly due to the cold climate in this area.
The official said that the body should be sent for a post-mortem examination to know the cause of her death and for that, they will have to wait until the relatives of the family come from Denmark to identify the body.
