The Court of Appeal has issued an interim restraining order preventing the implementation of a gazette notice issued by the Sports Minister suspending the activities of Mr. Risley Elias, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rugby Institute and that institution.
It was by ruling on a writ petition submitted by the chairman of the Rugby Institute.
The bench of the Court of Appeal, including the President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne and A Marikkar, issued this order.
This interim order shall remain in force till the hearing of the petition.
