The Central Cultural Fund has decided to apply a water-printed cover to prevent water leakage at Anuradhapura’s Jethavanarama Dagaba, which is recognized as the world’s largest brick Dagaba.
Its Director General Professor Gamini Ranasinghe said that the cover will be applied over the square so as not to disturb its ancient appearance.
The Director General also said that the experts have submitted suggestions as a permanent solution to prevent water leakage from the cracks between the bricks of Dagabe.
He said that the recent cracks in Dagabe’s womb are being repaired.
The Director General expresses confidence that it can be completed soon.
