    The village official who forged documents to enrol children to a Girls’ College in Kandy was arrested

    The Senkadagala village official has been arrested by the Kandy Special Crime Investigation Division, which is investigating the case of admission of 29 children to St. Anthony’s Girls’ College in Kandy using unauthorized methods.

    This investigation has been started according to a complaint made by Mr. Hemantha Premathilaka, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education.

    The Additional Secretary has complained to the police that someone has forged documents using his official name, position and letterhead of the Ministry of Education and committed this fraud.

    In the investigation conducted according to this complaint, it has been found that Senkadagala village official has issued 09 residence certificates to admit the children by entering false information. Accordingly, the village officer, a 58-year-old resident of Varellagama, was arrested.
