Court orders received by Natasha for insulting Buddhism

The Colombo High Court has ordered the remanded stand-up comedian Natasha Edrisuriya to be released on bail.

That was after considering a bail petition submitted on her behalf.

The judge announced the bail order after Deputy Solicitor General Dilipa Peiris, who appeared for the Attorney General, gave notice that he would not oppose the bail request.

Natasha Edirisiuriya, a stage comedian, was remanded until the 12th.

The Fort Magistrate Court has made the order.

Natasha Edirisuriya was arrested on the 28th of May for insulting Buddhism in a program held at a theater in Colombo.
