The liquor tax has been increased with immediate effect.
The Excise Department says that the price of all types of liquor will increase accordingly.
This tax amendment has been done by the order of President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Minister of Finance.
Meanwhile, the price of a cigarette has been increased with effect from today (01).
