The Egoda Uyana Police arrested four people who threatened a lawyer with a knife who was making a phone call after stopping his car on the side of a road in Koralawella, Moratuwa. They robbed him of money and an expensive watch and took the lawyer to an ATM machine and forcibly took 50,000 rupees from his bank card.
The smartwatch worth 150,000 rupees and 3000 rupees in his pocket were also stolen.
During the investigation regarding this robbery, the officers of the anti-corruption division of the Egoda Uyana Police received information that the robbery was carried out by a group of people who were recently released from remand for motorcycle theft. The police say that the stolen smartwatch has also been recovered. These four robbers are residents of Koralawella.
