Commodore RCPJ Rajapaksa, the second in command of the Vijayabahu ship belonging to the Navy, which recently arrived in Sri Lanka from America, committed suicide by hanging himself in his cabin.
The Colombo Port Police say that he hanged himself while the ship was stopped at Bandaranaike Jetty in Colombo Port.
This officer committed suicide in the early hours of the 14th.
The wife of this navy officer is a major in the army. They have 02 children.
The police say that the reason for the officer’s suicide has not been revealed.
