A doctor who worked at Thambuttegama Government Hospital was found dead mysteriously on his bed in his official residence this afternoon.
A 35-year-old doctor named Amila Sadakelum Disanayaka, who worked in the kidney unit of the hospital, has died.
This doctor, who is married, is a resident of Narammala.
The police say that he was found dead when a hospital worker came to the doctor’s office to inquire about the fact that he had not reported to work for three days.
Police say that it is suspected that the doctor died due to an overdose of insulin and there is an insulin vial near his body.
Police say that the doctor’s wife is also a doctor and she is a dentist at Kurunegala Hospital. It is said that they have a 5-year-old child.
