The Janatha Vimukti Peramuna-led National People’s Power has planned to start a series of protests from today (08).
These protests are being held demanding that the local government elections be held immediately.
The first demonstration is scheduled to be held today in front of the Rajagiriya Election Commission.
It is stated that all the candidates who have appeared in the local government election representing the national people will participate in the protest.
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna says that they will continue to implement this protest program until the local government elections are held.
