Deputy Director General of Health Services Hemantha Herath today (21) revealed that an infected person with the deadly covid Delta variant that is spreading in India has also been identified in Madiwela, Pragathipura.
An infected person of the widespread covid Delta variant in India is first identified in Sri Lanka from the Dematagoda monastery area. With the identification of four patients from Dematagoda and one from Madiwela, five people have been diagnosed with covid Delta variant, Dr. Hemantha Herath said.
He further stated that only two out of the five infected persons are currently receiving treatment and the other three have returned home after recovering.
