The government has decided to increase the entry fees for botanical gardens with effect from the 1st of next month.
The Minister of Tourism and Lands, Mr. Harin Fernando has issued the relevant gazette notification.
Accordingly, the entry fee for local adults is Rs. 200 and the entry fee for children is Rs. 30.
Earlier, the charges were Rs.100 for adults and Rs.20 for children.
It is also reported that the entrance fee for foreign adults to the botanical gardens is Rs. 3,000 and for foreign children, the fee is Rs. 1,500.
Previously, foreign adults were charged Rs. 2,000 and children were charged Rs. 1,000.
