An operation has been started in the western province to arrest the drivers who drive vehicles using toxic drugs such as heroin, ice and cocaine.
This operation has been launched by 106 police stations in the Western Province, says Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Nihal Thalduwa.
Mr. Nihal Thalduwa says that the police has now received the testing kits that can identify the drugs used by the drivers by testing their saliva, and the operation has been launched with those testing kits.
He further mentioned that 15 bus drivers who drove buses under the influence of toxic drugs have been identified from the operations conducted last weekend.
