The Hettipola Police has arrested a field officer of the Human Resource Department of the North Western Provincial Council with a firearm manufactured in this country.
The police say that the suspect was arrested while staying in a salon during a special operation yesterday covering the Hettipola bus stand.
Police say that the suspect has been detained for 72 hours and is being investigated.
