Chairman of the National Committee for Delimitation of Local Authorities Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya states that the final report of the committee is expected to be delivered around the third week of May.
An interim report of the National Committee for Delimitation of Local Authorities was handed over to the Prime Minister on April 11.
According to the National Local Government Delimitation Committee, it has so far received nearly 400 proposals from various parties regarding its interim report.
Its chairman, Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya, stated that he is expected to forward his observations to the relevant parties as soon as possible.
The committee was appointed last year with the aim of reducing the number of local government members to around 4,000.
