Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over most parts of the island after 2.00pm.
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva Western and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Showers may occur in Galle and Matara districts during the morning too.
The Disaster Management Center (DMC) urges the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
