The All Ceylon Restaurant Owners Association says that starting from midnight today (05), the prices of cooked food such as kottu, fried rice and rice packets sold in hotels and restaurants will be lowered.
Accordingly, the president of the association Mr. Asela Sampath said that the price of the above-mentioned food will be reduced by 20% and the cost of plain tea by 10%.
The reason for this is the drop in gas prices.
The Consumer Service Authority says that it will conduct a special investigation on whether the prices of other goods, including food will decrease compared to the decrease in the price of raw materials with the decrease in the value of the US dollar.
