The Election Commission has also decided to hold a discussion with the secretaries of the political parties contesting for the local government elections on the 23rd at 10.00 am.
Also, the recognized political parties have been given a period of 14 days from March 16th to hand over the audited accounts of the party to the Election Commission.
The commission also said in a statement that they will end a particular party’s claims as a recognized political party according to the powers of the commission against the parties that do not provide the account statements.
These decisions were taken when the commission met yesterday (16).
