A team of officers with special equipment has been sent to the Victoria Reservoir area today to investigate the minor earthquake that occurred yesterday (16th) afternoon.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said the earthquake, measuring 1.94 on the Richter scale, was also recorded in seismometers in the Mahakanadarawa, Pallekele and Hakmana areas.
Authorities said the Victoria Dam was not affected.
