A special party leaders meeting chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is scheduled to be held this afternoon at the Parliament Complex.
It is said that there will be discussions regarding several matters including the allocation of money for local government polls.
A group of MPs representing the opposition met the Speaker yesterday and requested him to intervene in allocating money for holding the local government polls.
According to a decision taken there, it is reported that the meeting of the party leaders has been called.
