A Police Sergeant of the Matara Division Crime Investigation Bureau has been suspended for allegedly having an affair with Tina, who is said to be the unlawful wife of Harak Kata, a large-scale drug trafficker who is staying in Dubai and runs the country’s underworld and drug trafficking.
After an investigation by the Superintendent of Police, Matara, this sergeant has been suspended with effect from yesterday (01).
Rajapaksa Pathiranalage Thilini Nishadi alias Tina, a 31-year-old woman, was arrested on the 18th by the Police Special Task Force while staying in a house on Udahena Road, Maharagama with 12 grams and 800 milligrams of heroin and was handed over to Thihagoda Police Station.
She is currently in police custody on a detention order. Police information disclosed that the information that she is having an affair with a sergeant of the Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau has been revealed from the investigations conducted on her.
