Katunayake Police has arrested an attendant working at the Colombo National Hospital while distributing drugs, who was involved in a drug distribution racket.
The police say that this worker, who is a resident of Polonnaruwa, resides in Katunayake with her illegitimate husband and has been involved in drug distribution.
The police say that she was arrested when she came to give heroin to a person at Malgam junction in Katunayake, hiding it in an empty facial cream container. There were 05 grams and 200 milligrams of heroin hidden in that container.
During questioning, she said that she produces this type of cosmetics at home. But investigations have shown that what is really happening is the distribution of drugs by hiding them inside the cream. The police say that they will conduct further investigations with the help of the Police Narcotics Bureau.
