The Election Commission states that the acceptance of nominations for local government election will end at 12 noon today (21).
Acceptance of nominations in all district secretariats across the country started on January 18th.
The Election Commission also says that after accepting the nominations, one and a half hours will be given for submitting objections from 12 pm today.
After the end of the objection period, a special gazette announcement stating the date of the election will be issued.
It states that the local government election will be held on a Saturday in the middle of March.
