A police constable of the Jaffna Special Crime Investigation Unit was arrested yesterday evening by the investigating officers of the Bribery Commission while receiving a bribe of Rs. 1 million for favoring the suspects in a fraud investigation.
The police constable named S. Sugandan was arrested near Jaffna Market.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced in the Jaffna court today.
