Minister of State for Finance Dr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya says that inverters needed to generate electricity through renewable energy sources will be exempted from the port and airport development tax.
According to this, the Minister states that arrangements have been made to exempt the port and airport development tax from 10% on static converters and inverters imported under HS code number 8504.40.
This tax exemption has been done by the Gazette Notification 2312/67 issued by President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
