A police sergeant who went to attack a mother and a child with an axe during a conflict over a land dispute was arrested yesterday by the officers of the Dehiaththakandiya Police.
A police sergeant attached to the Dehiaththakandiya Police has been arrested.
The incident occurred at Nawamedagama in Medagama, and the police say that he went to kill the wife and child of his wife’s brother with an axe.
The police suspect arrested with the axe has been released on bail.
The police will report the matter to the court on the 21st.
