The National Building Research Organization says that the quality of the atmosphere will return to normal today (09). The Chief Scientist of its Air Pollution Management Unit, Mr. Sarath Premasiri stated that the level of air pollution has reduced by 75% compared to yesterday.
He further mentioned that this situation is normalizing with the change in the wind direction of the vortex caused by the low-pressure situation around the Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, he also stated that yesterday (08), the air quality index in many areas of the island rose to a value between 150-200.
