The Election Commission says that it is expected that Rs. 10 billion will be spent to conduct the next local government elections.
Its Commissioner General Mr. Saman Sri Rathnayake, mentioned that this estimation has been approved by the budget for this year.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission announced yesterday (08) that the gazette notice related to holding the local government election will be issued in the last week of this month.
The Election Commission stated that the preparation of the 2022 voter list at the local government level had been completed.
According to the Election Commission, voter lists were prepared for 341 local government bodies.
