Colombo District Judge Purnima Paranagama has rejected the injunction requested by Minister Mahinda Amaraweera from the Colombo District Court to suspend the appointment of former Deputy Speaker Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala as the Secretary General of the United People’s Freedom Alliance.
Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera filed this petition under Colombo District Court case number 497/2022.
It is against the leader of the United People’s Freedom Alliance Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and the General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala and the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara.
Lawyer Mr. Suren Fernando appeared for the plaintiff Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera.
