The Hunguranketha Police say that the seat organizer of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Mr. Jayalath Bandara Dissanayake, who is in hiding, is wanted regarding the attack on a person who was making decorations for the Nuwara Eliya district meeting of the
‘Uththara Lanka Sabhagaya’ held yesterday (27) at Haguranketa Cultural Hall and destroyed the decorations.
A senior police officer said that a special police team had been deployed to arrest him, who was hiding and avoiding the area.
The official said that Chandana Kumara Herath, a resident of Maliyadda, Gonaganthanna, Haguranketha, a supporter of the
‘Uththara Lanka Sabhagaya’ was attacked and is still being treated in Haguranketha Hospital.
