The All-Island Three Wheeler Entrepreneurs’ Union states that three wheeler drivers are in a desperate situation due to the corona epidemic.
The President of the All-Island Three Wheeler Entrepreneurs’ Union, Mr. M. J. Dissanayaka said that the three-wheeler drivers who could not pick up rides and had no income due to the travel restrictions for about a month were in a very miserable condition.
Mr. Dissanayake said that a situation has arisen where three-wheelers are unable to pay the lease installments and some vehicles are now unable to ride.
He said the drivers of three-wheelers in Colombo could not go to the villages and were stuck in rented rooms and could not send money to their homes.
