Gemunu Wijeratne, President of Sri Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, says that there will be no increase in bus fares.
He said this while replying to the question whether the bus fares will increase along with the fuel price revision which was implemented from midnight yesterday (11).
According to the National Policy on Bus Fares, yesterday’s hike in diesel prices will not result in an increase in bus fares, he said.
He said that if the price of diesel increases again, he hopes to make a request from the National Transport Commission to increase bus fares.
