The Inspector General of Police has handed over all investigations into the harassment of university students to the Criminal Investigation Department.
The Inspector General of Police has taken steps to hand over all the complaints regarding harassment received by police stations to the Criminal Investigation Department.
According to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Inspector General of Police has taken this step.
Spokesman Senior DIG Advocate Nihal Talduwa says that Police Media said that the Inspector General of Police has already given the necessary instructions to all the senior officers by ordering that the complaints received regarding harassment should be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department and that the complaints received at the police stations should be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department for investigation.
