According to the Ministry of Health, the stock of Pfizer vaccine doses imported to Sri Lanka to prevent the covid-19 epidemic in Sri Lanka will expire on the 31st of this month.
Millions of vaccines are lying unused in the country.
Deputy Health Services Director General Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath said that if there is no official notification that the period of those vaccines can be extended, there is more chance of the related vaccines being wasted.
