A 28-year-old priest of a temple in Puhulwella has been arrested by the officers of the Matara Division Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau.
It was accused of raping a 14-year-old minor girl who came to worship inside the temple.
According to a complaint received by the Divisional Children and Women’s Bureau, the monk was arrested after a long investigation, said a senior official of the Bureau.
