The Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera states that Ceylon Petroleum Corporation earns a profit of Rs. 159.61 per liter of 95 octane petrol.
Also, the profit from a liter of Octane 92 petrol is Rs 33.62.
The Minister says that despite getting a high profit from petrol, the profit from auto diesel is Rs. 1.55 per liter. But earns Rs. 41.89 per liter from Lanka Super Diesel.
Despite making a profit from these fuels, the minister says that there is a loss of Rs. 30.62 from a liter of kerosene.
Ceypetco earns this profit from petrol after reducing the price of petrol. Also, this profit is calculated as profit after tax.
