Mr. Nalin Fernando, Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Safety, says that the price of wheat flour will be lowered next week.
According to that, the minister said that steps will be taken to reduce the price of a kilo of wheat flour to Rs. 250.
The Minister stated this while replying to a question asked by Member of Parliament Mr. Rohana Bandara during the parliamentary session today (03).
Furthermore, the minister also emphasized that imported wheat flour will continue to arrive in Sri Lanka from this week.
In addition, he said that nearly 100 containers of wheat flour are being unloaded at the Colombo port.
Minister Nalin Fernando further pointed out that wheat flour is being imported to Sri Lanka from Dubai and Turkey and due to the delay in the transportation of wheat flour to Sri Lanka in the past, the price has increased rapidly.
