    G.L. Peiris goes to the international against silencing MPs

    The Member of Parliament, Professor G. L. Peiris said in parliament today that the Inter Parliamentary Organization and the General Secretary of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Organization were informed regarding not allowing the 13 Independent MPs to speak in Parliament.

    Accordingly, Professor G. L. Peiris informed raising a privilege question that attention was given by presenting the signatures of the 13 independent MPs including Dullas Alahapperuma.

    No problems can be solved by silencing MPs. It is necessary to let them speak to express people’s grievances. Today, this situation has been developed to a state where not letting 13 independent MPs skeak for 22 days since August 31. Prof. G. L. Peiris said.
