The Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association says that the price of printing materials had to be increased due to the paper mafia.
Its president, Samantha Indivera, states that some traders are currently hiding the stock of paper in the country and artificially increasing the price.
He also mentioned that urgent government intervention is needed to change this situation.
Mr. Samantha Indivera further stated that if this is not the case, the price of school books in particular will increase unsustainably for the common people.
