Udith K. Jayasinghe, the Vice Chancellor of North Western University has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.
He has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by Rohana Pushpakumara, who was the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture after his resignation from the post last week.
Last March, Mr. Pushpakumara became the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture. He did not serve as the Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture for more than three months.
Prior to that, the post of Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture was held by retired Major General Sumedha Perera. He resigned last February, citing personal reasons.
