The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna hopes to submit a proposal to the Parliament that every member representing the Parliament should start a tax file, said a party’s Member of Parliament Mr. Madhura Withanage.
He also mentioned that it is important to set an example for the country and it is very important to start with the Parliament.
Accordingly, the MP said that he hopes to present the proposal in the future.
The MP said that steps should be taken in the future to overcome the weaknesses in the tax collection process and collect money and tax revenue for the state.
He also said that before collecting taxes from the people of the country, the prescribed taxes should be collected from the high-ranking institutions and companies that evade the income tax due to the country.
