China has made a grant of 5,000 metric tons of rice to provide rice aid to nearly 1 million school students.
This program will be implemented in 7,925 selected schools and will cover 78% of the total number of schools in Sri Lanka.
The official handing over of the rice stock to Sri Lanka took place at the Ministry of Education, which was attended by Mr. Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Education and Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong.
