The United States has announced plans to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine internationally, including in Sri Lanka.
U.S. President Joe Biden says he plans to deliver 80 million doses of the vaccines globally, based on legal and regulatory approvals.
The president announced plans to send the first 25 million doses.
Accordingly, nearly 19 million vaccines will be distributed through COVAX.
Asian countries contain approximately 7 million doses.
7 million doses for India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan and the Pacific Islands.
