A doctor attached to the Kandy General Hospital was arrested yesterday by the Batticaloa police officers who suffocated the baby born to him and his housemaid.
A 36-year-old doctor who is a resident of Saindamarudu Kalyana Road has been arrested.
This doctor’s wife is also a doctor. Police say that this crime took place in 2017 when both were working at the Batticaloa Hospital. The body of the killed baby was found thrown into a well.
After a long-term investigation, it was possible to solve this crime after a DNA test.
