A few moments ago Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe was sworn in as the 8th Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the Parliament Complex.
That was in front of Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya.
It is reported that due to a technical difficulty, the live broadcast of the swearing-in of the new president has been halted.
The Speaker, three armed forces commanders and the Inspector General of Police also joined the occasion.
