The use of Rice or Paddy for animal feed production is prohibited

The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a special gazette notification banning the sale or use of rice or paddy for animal feed production.

This Order under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 09 of 2003 is effective from today (24).

Accordingly, any importer, manufacturer, trader, or distributor is prohibited from importing, selling, exposing, selling, storing, transporting, distributing, or purchasing rice or paddy directly for animal feed production or for any other raw material.
