Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that no institution in the world is willing to give oil even for cash due to the debt burden of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
“The CPC is currently in debt of $ 700 million. As a result, no institution in the world is willing to supply oil to the CPC even for cash. India can not always supply oil. They supplied as much as they could. Now, Indian banks also have problems. The only safe haven we currently have is the International Monetary Fund. No other country will lend to us without their guarantee. There is no other way before us. If there are other practical solutions for the country, please submit them, ”he said.
He said this while making a special statement in Parliament today regarding the economic situation in the country.
