Businessman Dhammika Perera has decided to postpone his swearing in as a Member of Parliament or as a Minister.
Accordingly, he has informed the Supreme Court today (20) through a lawyer.
That is, stating that he will not be sworn in as a Member of Parliament or a Minister until a decision is made on the fundamental rights petitions filed against him in the Supreme Court.
Five fundamental rights petitions have been filled against Businessman Dhammika Perera in the Supreme Court alleging that his swearing in as a Member of Parliament is unconstitutional.
Dhammika Perera’s lawyer had informed that this was the case when the petitions were heard today.
The petitions are due to be heard again tomorrow (21).
