The Consumer Affairs Authority has introduced several telephone numbers to provide information on places where rice is hidden and sold at higher prices.
Accordingly, the Consumer Affairs Authority stated that such complaints can be made during office hours by calling the short number 1977.
Information can also be obtained from the Provincial Assistant Directors of the Western and Uva Provinces of the Consumer Affairs Authority on 077 1088 895.
Complaints in the Northern and North Western Provinces can be made on 077 1088 914 and complaints in the Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces can be made on 077 1088 903, the Consumer Affairs Authority said.
In addition, the Authority requests the public to lodge complaints in the North Central Province on 077 1088 902 and complaints in the Central and Eastern Provinces on 077 1088 904.
