The National Child Protection Authority urges parents and guardians not to leave young children alone on the streets for any purpose.
Chairman of the Authority, Senior Lecturer Udaya Kumara Amarasinghe said that the observation of the murder of the 09-year-old girl in Atalugama shows that the murder could have been prevented if the girl had not been sent to the shop alone.
The Chairman of the National Child Protection Authority further pointed out that every adult should act responsibly to protect children.
